Best things to do on the weekend when bored

The weekend is here and sadly you are mindlessly surfing the internet looking for something to do or looking for something that will jump out of the screen and give you an idea of what to do this weekend.

Anything just anything please jump out at me. You keep checking your Facebook account every 10 minutes to see if anyone has posted anything interesting or maybe sent you an e-mail or possibly a friend request but nope nothing going on there.

You have hit the Stumble upon button about 50 times and found some cool stuff but nothing so intriguing that you stayed too long on that site. So what should a person like you do on a weekend like this?

You are bored and you just can’t make up your mind as to what you really feel like doing. We have all been there so don’t feel alone, sometimes it is just plain hard to decide on what you should be doing.

If you pick the wrong thing to do then you are just going to be wasting your weekend right?

Preparing for a Fun Weekend Ahead

First of all when you are mindlessly surfing and thinking and can never make a decision on what to do then there is a great chance you need more sleep.

You might be up to late at night or up to early in the morning worrying about what you should be doing instead of getting the rest your body needs to give you energy and clear your mind so you can think straight and quite possibly be able to decide on what to do.

So let’s start there, get some sleep and then come back and finish reading this. Ok so your back now and you are all rested up and have a nice hot fresh cup of coffee or tea.

If you don’t have a fresh hot cup of coffee or tea then go make yourself one.

Still bored? Now that you are all rested and thinking with a clear mind now is the time to really focus on what you can do when you are bored.

House Chores Can be Fun to Do on the Weekend

Sometimes when people are bored they tend to neglect chores around the home because they are too worried that they should be doing something more or less important.

Thing is though, is that if you clean up around your home your mind will be free to think of things to do instead of having it in the back of your mind that you have cleaning to do.

So grab your second cup of coffee or tea and get your cleaning supplies and start cleaning around the home. If your home is clean then maybe your vehicle needs a good cleaning. After everything is clean you should make sure and have a good meal.

After your meal have a nice hot shower or bath which ever you prefer. Once you are all cleaned up yourself it is time to go out and do those errands you have been putting off.

Nothing feels better than accomplishing errands on a list.

More Great Things You Can Do This Weekend

Next thing you might want to do is start calling friends and family that you have been too busy to call lately and just say hello and connect with them and see how they are doing and let them know how you are doing.

Now doesn’t it feel good to connect with other humans you care about? Okay so now you have gotten quite a bit out of the way and I wouldn’t blame you if you needed another nap by now.

If napping is something you always wished you had time to do then take the time and have a refreshing nap, your body and mind will thank you for it. After your nap make yourself a nice meal and read the paper or your favourite magazine.

Now if you have children I know you won’t be napping unless your children are napping so hopefully you can get them to rest.

How about Going to a Movie?

Once awake again it is time to figure out what to do next. Here are some suggestions to help you break the boredom blues.

Listen to some older CDs you have, watch a movie you have been waiting for the right time to watch, try surfing the internet again now that you are all rested, try sites like Stumble Upon and search for things you are interested in.

Do a craft, write a letter and mail it to an old friend or relative, have a look at your finances and determine if you are where you want to be and if not figure out a game plan to get to your goal, exercise, play a video game on the computer or your gaming system, go shopping, write an article on the internet, go to a coffee house and try a new coffee drink.

Go to a movie theatre, library, Science center, museum or art gallery. How about just sitting on the front step or your back yard listening to your iPod or just sitting in the silence enjoying the sights and sounds around you.

Go to the lake or beach, swimming, fishing or just soaking up the sun. Plan your winter holidays. Go to a restaurant you have never been to before. Call friends and family who live far away just to say hi.

There are endless things you can do when bored. It is just a matter of picking something and doing it.

Good luck.
