Let's get started with some great money saving ideas

If you missed parts 1 and 2 of this money saving series you can find the links to them below if you want to read them before this hub or afterwards.

Walk instead of driving. The next time you need to go somewhere can you walk there instead of driving?

You will save money on gasoline and wear and tear on your vehicle and once again you will be helping out the environment by not burning fuel.

You are going to be healthier for it also. Think of it as exercise or distressing time when you walk.

Enjoy the sights and sounds around you while you get a bit of exercise and save money all at the same time.

Only purchase things when you really need them.  Stop buying items just because you like them. Before impulse buying ask yourself if you really need the item.

If you have to walk away and think about it. Would it really make your life better if you had the item? Can you live without it?

9 times out of 10 I think you can probably do without.

In the western hemisphere we are brought up to be very materialistic maybe not always by our parents but influenced by TV and the people around us.

Stop trying to keep up with the Joneses. You will feel better about yourself when you get that under control and you will also be saving yourself from some needless spending.

Try buying only what you need and not what you want.

Shop around for a lower mortgage interest rate. A mortgage will probably be one of the biggest loans you ever have.

When your mortgage is getting close to renewal time it pays to shop around and see who will give you the best interest rate.

Instead of a bank why not trying a mortgage broker. Mortgage brokers can most times find you a better interest than a bank or possibly if you get a rate from a broker and go to your bank they will at least try to match the rate if not beat it.

If there is a penalty fee for transferring your mortgage to a different bank or a broker make sure and get the new holder of your loan to agree on paying the penalty fee for you.

Most will jump at paying the fee to get your business. This one is a no brainer; take the time to look around for a better rate. It will save you literally thousands in the long run.

Finally for Part 3 of Money Saving Ideas

Get a slower internet service speed. Some people have to have super duper fast high speed internet speeds when having high speed light is just as good from what I can tell.

I don’t have the fastest speed internet and I can cruise along pretty fast around the internet.

I have had the fastest service my provider provides and I didn’t really notice much of a difference even when downloading.

You could save good money doing this. To switch internet speeds it usually only takes a phone call to your provider to switch it so even if you just try it for a week to see if the lower speed works for you.

The difference in price between the speed I currently have and the fastest is $20 a month so I am saving $240 right there.

I hope you enjoyed part 3 of 4 of my money saving hub series. You can find links to the other hubs in this series below.
