Valentine's Date on a Dime

If you are looking for ways to have a romantic valentine’s day date with your loved one without breaking the bank there are many things you can do that will still show you love or care about her or him without having to take out a bank loan.

Even on such a highly commercially promoted special occasion like Valentine’s Day you can still show you care by doing something simple. People want to be acknowledged that they are important to you more than receiving fancy gifts.

If however the special someone in your life is more likely to appreciate expensive gifts then maybe that is what you should do and stop reading this hub now. I am not a counsellor by any means but if you do have someone that only cares about gifts then maybe you should ponder your relationship and really make sure it is what you want.

If you started reading this then you are probably a very special caring person who wants to do something special for your special someone therefore you deserve someone special in your life.

 If you want to have a special date on Valentine’s Day or any other day without spending a fortune it is time to put your thinking cap on and start thinking about what is really important in your partner’s life to come up with some really good date ideas.

These are the things you are going to choose from as far as dates are concerned. If you want to really impress her or him you have to do something they will really enjoy and appreciate.

Think about something they enjoy doing that isn’t stressful. Think about something that brings that person to their happy place. I will give you some ideas right away but first you need to understand that this date is about the other person not you.

That means that what you choose to do might not thrill you but it will more than thrill them. Sharing in something that you don’t have much or any interest in is a great way to bond and a great way to say you care.   

When you choose something to do make sure and plan it for your loved one. You are just going along for the ride to make sure they have a wonderful experience.

IMPORTANT: When you are on your date your focus is on the other person, be attentive at all times, listen more than you talk. You create the moment and let your special person enjoy it.

Do these things from beginning to end. This should be something we all do on a daily basis but most of us lose sight of what is really important in the day to day hustle and bustle of life.

So now you need some really good date ideas that won’t cost you a fortune.

If you are with someone who is busy running around most days you might want to plan something at home.

A romantic date at home can be just as special if not more special, than going out. A home cooked dinner that you prepare yourself is always a hit.

Do everything yourself, preparations and cleaning up. Use the dishwasher to speed things up.

After dinner sitting out in the yard or back deck enjoying the stars with your lover’s favourite beverage in hand can be romantic.

Sitting and chatting and just enjoying the night sky. After your meal settles retreating to a candle lit bathroom with an already filled hot bath and beverages in reach is a great way to spice things up.

Make sure to have the best romantic type music playing that your partner enjoys, remember it is all about them. Whatever happens after a nice hot romantic hot tub or bath I will leave in your hands.

Going out does not have to cost a fortune either. Does your partner enjoy going for walks, possibly at the beach or maybe you live near a wooded area that has paths. I have always enjoyed nice quiet walks through the forest.

Bike riding along the same paths can be just as fun. Some people enjoy going for long drives. If you go for a long drive make sure to have a place in mind that you can stop at for a bite to eat. Somewhere that you can possibly sit outside that has a great view.

Maybe your special someone enjoys going to live music events. This is an easy one, just check out your local listings and make sure to get tickets ahead of time if necessary.

Depending on where you live and what your date enjoys to do there are so many different ideas you can come up with for things to do on a date.

Remember that romantic date ideas don’t have to cost a fortune no matter what media broadcasts on the TV or radio. They are just trying to sell you on something.

What is important to make a date very special is to choose something your partner enjoys and focus on them during the whole date. Who knows maybe they will return the favour some day.

But don’t do it to get something back, do it because you want to with no expectations other than showing them you care and want them to be happy.

That’s what really matters on the date and in life. Which makes me think that if you take what I have told you so far and used it in your everyday life all of your relationships whether it be a partner, parent, child, friend or acquaintance I believe your life would be filled with happiness.

To recap choose something to do that you know your date will enjoy and appreciate and doesn’t cost a fortune.

I just thought of this, even if they enjoy fishing and you don’t. Tell them you want them to take you fishing and show you how it is done, even that can be a date.

People who care and love you would be thrilled to show you something, how their hobby works etc. When on the date everything is about them first. Listen a lot. Just appreciate the moment and being with them, they will feel the same and they will appreciate everything you have done.

Your bond will strengthen exponentially.

One thing not to forget is even though flowers are just about pushed down your throat around Valentine’s Day and are overly priced women do enjoy a gift of flowers.

Yes you can buy flowers any time of year and so you should buy them other times of the year as well but women really do enjoy some type of arrangement even if it is just to show you are trying to make them happy.

Men on the other hand probably don’t enjoy receiving flowers as much as something as simple as a card that expresses how you feel. Spending money on flowers and or a card are a good investment on any special day or date.
