Victoria Secret Model - Alessandra Ambrosio

Alessandra Ambrosio is a very well known beautiful model. If she looks familiar to you then you have probably seen here modelling Victoria Secrets products either on TV or in magazines.

She is now one of Victoria Secrets “Angels” models. Alessandra is a Brazilian model and entered the modelling world after Giselle Bundchen and in the 1990’s became incredibly popular and successful.

Ambrosia was born April 11^th 1981 in Brazil in a little town called Erechim which is at the southern tip of Brazil close to Uruguay. She decided she wanted to be a model when she was only eight years old because she saw a photo of one of the top cover girls at that time, Karen Mulder. She thought to herself that some day she wanted to be just like Karen.

The beautiful model is 5’ 10” and weighs on average 112 – 114lbs. not only is Alessandra a successful model but she is currently the national ambassador for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Alessandra enrolled in modelling classes at the age of 12 and by the time she was 14 she was entering modelling contests. When she was 14 she entered the Elite Modelling Competition in Brazil where she was one of 20 finalists.

She did not win the contest that year but the next year Elite offered her a contract. Her first big break was landing the cover of the Brazilian edition of Elle magazine.

Since then Alessandra has worked with many companies along the way in her career. Just to touch on the impressive list of employers she has had are such well known people and companies as Guess, Revlon, Christian Dior, Giorgio Armani, Rolex, Gucci, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein and the list goes on.

She has also appeared on more than fifty international magazine covers for such well known mags as Elle, GQ, Vogue, Cosmopolitan and even Glamour magazine.

Alessandra has her own swimwear line that she launched in 2004 and in 2008 she was ranked as #2 in askmen.com’s Top 99 Most Desirable Women of 2008. In 2008 she also had her first child and appeared in a Victoria Secret fashion show just 3 months after giving birth.

Alessandra’s probably better known for her work with Victoria Secret where she was selected as the first ever spokes model for Victoria Secrets “Pink” line. In 2005 she walked the runway wearing lingerie that was made entirely out of candy.

She has made several television appearances in a wide variety of shows. Some of those shows are How I Met Your Mother with fellow Victoria Secret Angels Marissa Miller Selita Ebanks and Adriana Lima, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, The Tyre Banks Show, Entourage where she played herself and she was a guest judge on Project Runway in season 2.

She also had a very brief role as a tennis girl on James Bonds Casino Royale.

Alessandra is an extremely successful model and appears to not be slowing down any time soon so look out for her on the cover or inside one of your favourite magazines.
